Saying that being a parent is overwhelming is an understatement. Maybe you just found out you’re pregnant and are already feeling overwhelmed by the changes to your body, the list of things you can and cannot do, and the hundreds of questions that you have to find the answer for. You want the best for child but maybe haven’t had the best examples throughout your life. You know you need to break the cycle for your kids but don’t know where to start. You find yourself being pulled in to many different roles (parent, partner, friend) but feel like you’re failing at all of it. You are overwhelmed, touched out, short fused and tired.
You know that something needs to change but have trouble asking for help. It’s hard to let go of control and let others help you take care of you and those you love. Finding the time for yourself seems impossible especially if you don’t think you know who you are anymore. Having a safe space to find yourself again outside of your role as a mother is important and something you want to carve out time for.
