Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How can therapy help me?

Therapy is a place that allows you to be yoursef and to get to know your true self. It is a place that allows for introspection, understanding and self-compassion. Although it can come with its own challenges, therapy can help you grow, process emotions, improve your ability to cope and create long lasting change.

How do I start?

Finding the right therapist can be similar to dating - sometimes you have to try out a few before you find the right fit. Because of this reason, I offer a free 15 minute phone or video consultation for us to discuss what you are looking for in therapy and a therapist and determine if we would be a good fit. What happens in the first session?

Although we both may be eager to dive right in to the nitty, gritty bits and pieces, I like to take the first session to gather some information. We’ll discuss your primary concerns and goals for therapy, a bit about your history and what was the catalyst for you wanting therapy at this point. Together we will come up with attainable goals that we can work towards and evaluate as we work together. After that, we’ll go over some important things like informed consent, your rights to confidentiality, and I can answer any questions that you may have.

What are your office hours?

Office hours vary but include daytime and evening hours. I do not have office hours on the weekends.

What are your fees?

The fee for a 45 minute session is $200.

The fee for a 60 minute session is $250

Do you accept insurance?

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059
